The continuing saga of Batman in Vegas
(See part one of the saga here.)
So Josh and I are surviving Damon’s absence but it sure hasn’t helped that the weather is really cruddy this week.
The only things entertaining us are Josh’s extremely loose tooth, and the random photos of mini-Batman that Damon’s been taking all over Las Vegas the conference hotel. Note to hubby - more actual VEGAS please. Ahem. I’m trying to live vicariously here.
So apparently Batman really can fly:
Oh wait, he’s just stuck the window with gum. Nevermind.
Batman prefers Macs. So do I, I just can’t afford one!
Are all photographers generally messy or just the ones I know? Not that I’m judging mind you, after all, they are my kind of people.
I think Batman is a bit anti-social, turning his back onĀ our friendsĀ and all.
Hey Russ, long time no see!
Batman is tired and needs a nap. Ooooo, let’s ride the escalators first!
Good night Batman, I’m sure we’ll see more of you soon. Especially since I have nothing better to blog about.
PS. to Damon, Happy Birthday babe. Love you, miss you, and hate that you’re gone on your birthday. We might have to have cake in your honor. Heh.
friday is always a good day for bullets
Apparently I’m a slacker, a blog slacker that is. The rest of my life is going at break neck pace. This calls for bullets!
- I had my last nutrition class last night, this one on the glycemic index. There’s so much to learn! This was like no other class I’ve ever had, and it’s definitely changed my perspective on food.
- The good news is I’ve lost 9 pounds, 9! since January 1st. Woot! Even with my back problems this month I was very focused, and exercised as much as my PT allowed.
- I also wrote down every single bite of food that went into my mouth. I keep a little notebook nearby and the item and calories of everything.
- My back is considerably better, and I’ve been released from PT. I can do almost everything I want to now, except, heh, shovel snow. Sorry honey!
- No, I am not completely consumed with food intake and exercising - it just seems that way. I’m am talking about it because I’m still on a learning curve!
- Mostly my time has been spent working, and meeting some tight deadlines.
- And another deadline is looming like a little black cloud shooting lightning bolts into my brain.
- Next week is my kid’s school vacation. But I don’t have vacation!!! Woe is me.
- He and I are going to spend the weekend at my parent’s house. We haven’t been there since Thanksgiving. I’ll probably be spending my evenings, um, working.
- But then, on Sunday my MIL is coming to my parent’s house, and picking up my kid and taking him away for THREE. WHOLE. DAYS. No more woe is me!
- THREE. WHOLE. DAYS!!!
- I pick him back up on Wednesday afternoon. Don’t hate me because you’re jealous. ;)
- I would be jealous if I read this on someone else’s blog.
- DH and I might even be able to have a date! Like a movie! I’ve almost forgotten what it’s like to see a movie!
- No dinner out though. We’re both far happier when I cook. Especially when he cleans up. Well, that may just be me that gets happy over someone else cleaning my kitchen.
- 3 days! Squee!
- I’ll shut up now.
- xoxo

flashback friday: love look at the 2 of us
Edited to add: If you’re here from Proposal 2.0, I linked to one of my older posts because I think it gets the point across that your wedding (and hence your marriage) should be what you want it to be, not what everyone else wants it to be. My best marriage advice - take lots of candids!
It’s the Valentine’s Day edition of Flashback Friday over at My Tiny Kingdom! I’ve been waiting for this one just so I can post a couple of my wedding pictures!
My wedding was exactly the way I wanted it: small and simple. We were outside, under a big white tent, with sixty of our closest family and friends, and great food that I can’t remember eating. It was hotter than heck though, 99 degrees wasn’t part of the plan. Other than all the sweat it was the perfect day!
The best wedding photos are the unplanned ones, aren’t they?! We have tons of candids because there were a bunch of professional photographers as guests. I don’t know why we bothered hiring one! I’m glad we did though because he caught this one in between the set up shots:
It seems like we have more kissy shots than anything else, but this is my favorite:
Sometimes June 24, 1995 feels just like yesterday. (And then I look at my very, very tall hair. Yikes.)
Love you baby. xoxo

wish list
One of the reasons why I waffled about participating in NaBloPoMo was that I was afraid the pressure of posting every day would make me despise my own blog. Well, if you could see my stats, you’d know, as I now realize, that my real fear should have been that I would make you all despise my blog. ~bwahahahaha!~ Have mercy, this was the dumbest of my dumb ideas evah, but I vow to see it through! Just don’t expect a freaking post on December 1st. Sheesh.
So the boy finally made his Christmas wish list yesterday - we haven’t written our usual ‘Dear Santa’ email yet but at least I know what he wants now. (You read that right, no old fashioned letter in this house, we send an email to the North Pole!)
Here’s the list:
- Bakugan - typical cartoon tie-ins! No surprise there.
- Lego sets - he’s getting good at the hard ones! Castle, Star Wars, and Indiana Jones are all vying for top spot in his heart. I think he’s getting whatever Santa finds on sale.
- Pokemon cards - this is his newest obsession that must. be. collected!
- Leapster games - I’m down with this - love the Leapster! He’s had it for almost 3 years and it’s still going strong.
- a CAMERA (!) - well at least I’d stop having a heart attack every time he uses mine. I fear for my cute little Leica lens.
- a CELL PHONE (!) - who the heck is he gonna call?? Seriously, a cell phone? I told him not to hold his breath.
It’s funny, it seemed like such a normal list at first. Then it went off the deep end! Clearly, it’s a very bad thing that my husband is a techno-geek and we have so many electronic things around the house. Now the boy wants them too, and thinks they are basic necessities. He is just like his father. Well, maybe his mother too. But his father is much, much, much worse. His father might actually give him a digital camera. (A used one, but still (!) a camera for a 5 year old.)
And what do I want for Christmas? I just want a new a kitchen faucet, and maybe a decent soup pot. Really high tech eh?
ps. dear family members, that is not supposed to be a hint! (at least, it’s only a hint to my husband!) ;)
pps. what do you want for the holidays?
ppps. if you really want to give me something, you can click on my ads! hee hee…
